About Us
The Arc School achieves outstanding success with students who have struggled in prior placements and who typically hold statements of SEN for ASD, ADHD, Asperger's Syndrome, BESD, PDA, conduct disorders, speech and language difficulties, dyspraxia, Tourette's Syndrome and attachment disorders.
The school sustains excellence in learning opportunities within the framework of a caring and ultimately therapeutic environment where practice is informed by psychodynamic, humanistic, cognitive and behavioural perspectives to allow students whose lives have been troubled to flourish. Small learning groups of 5 and a high level of adult supervision at all times creates an emotionally containing atmosphere for vulnerable students.
The Arc School team of caring professional adults provides the routines, structure and clear expectations of high standards of courtesy and co-operation which underpin the outstanding success of the school. Whole staff daily briefings set the tone for the day and pinpoint children's support needs. Whole school meetings of staff and students at the start and end of each day allow all to prepare for learning and to account for achievement within a supportive atmosphere. |
